Stay healthy this holiday season without missing out on the treats! Discover 4 simple tips to boost your immune system, manage stress, and enjoy the holidays while keeping your health in check.

The holidays are a time for joy and celebration but can also challenge your health. Between indulging in treats, late-night parties, and the added stress of the season, it’s easy to feel run down. To help you thrive this holiday season, here are my top four survival tips to keep your immune system strong and your energy high!

1. Prevention Is the Best Medicine

If you often find yourself getting sick during the holidays, this tip is for you. A little preparation goes a long way! Consider adding these to your routine:

  • Vitamin D3 (2000-4000 units): Support your immune system.
  • Zinc (30-60 mg): Bolster your body’s defenses.
  • Probiotic: A healthy gut means a stronger immune system.

  • L-lysine (1000-2000 mg): Perfect if you’re prone to cold sores.

  • Herbal Immune Boosters: I always keep Gaia Quick Defense in my pantry. Alternatively, try Urban Moonshine’s Immune Zoom or Host Defense’s My Community to stay strong.

  • Cranberry-D-Mannose: Helps those prone to UTIs.

  • Adaptogens: Combat stress and build resilience with herbal formulas.

2. Indulge Mindfully (Skip the Seconds!)

The holiday season is full of temptations, from pies to cookies and cocktails. However, it’s not one indulgence that throws you off but the combination. Instead of overindulging, pick your favourite treats, savour them, and skip the seconds. This mindful approach will leave you feeling satisfied—without the guilt or post-holiday fatigue.

3. Hug, Don’t Handshake… Or Try My Favourite Greeting

Hugs are a wonderful way to spread love while also preventing the spread of germs. Winter illnesses are often passed through hand-to-hand contact, so opting for a hug can reduce the risk. That said, I’ll admit—I don’t love hugging, to be honest! I prefer an old-fashioned hand-on-chest gesture or a friendly head nod. 😊 Whatever feels right for you, make it personal and warm!

4. Give Yourself the Gift of Rest

Stress and sleepless nights can weaken your immune system. During the holidays, it’s tempting to stay up late, attend every event, and take care of everyone else—but don’t forget to prioritise yourself.

  • Aim for 7-8 hours of sleep each night.

  • Set aside time daily to relax and reset.

  • Focus on the positive: express gratitude, give love, and steer clear of stress-inducing interactions.

Following these tips will prepare you for a healthier, happier holiday season. If you’re looking for personalised guidance to keep your health on track, I’d love to work with you one-on-one! Book a consultation, and together, we’ll create a plan that supports your unique needs.
